Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Bridge@Home's mobile applications, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use our Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using our Services, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activities.

4. Services and Products

4.1 Bridge@Home Application

Our mobile application provides access to pre-dealt bridge hands, duplicate scoring, and community features. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the application.

4.2 Smart Cards and Physical Products

Our smart cards with QR codes are designed to work exclusively with the Bridge@Home application. Physical products are provided "as is" and subject to our return policy.

4.3 Hand Credits

Hand credits are virtual items that allow you to play pre-dealt hands. Credits are:

  • Non-refundable once purchased
  • Non-transferable between accounts
  • Valid for the lifetime of your account
  • Used on a per-hand basis

5. Purchases and Payments

5.1 Pricing

All prices are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Price changes will not affect orders already placed.

5.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed through third-party payment processors. You agree to their terms and conditions. We do not store your complete payment information.

5.3 Taxes

You are responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, or customs fees.

5.4 Refunds

Physical products may be returned within 30 days of delivery in original condition. Digital products (hand credits) are non-refundable except as required by law.

6. Affiliate Program

Participation in our affiliate program is subject to approval and additional terms. Affiliates must:

  • Promote Bridge@Home ethically and accurately
  • Not engage in spam or deceptive practices
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Not use their own affiliate code for personal purchases

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate affiliate accounts for violations.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without permission
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Reverse engineer or decompile our software
  • Use our Services for any commercial purpose without authorization
  • Manipulate scores or game results

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Rights

All content, features, and functionality of our Services are owned by Bridge@Home and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This includes:

  • Software and application code
  • Bridge hand algorithms and data
  • Logos, trademarks, and branding
  • Website content and design
  • QR code technology and integration

8.2 User Content

By submitting content (comments, feedback, suggestions), you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, reproduce, and display such content.

9. Privacy

Your use of our Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our data practices.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

10.1 Service "As Is"

OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10.2 No Guarantee

We do not guarantee that:

  • The Services will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Services are free of viruses or harmful components
  • Results obtained from the Services will be accurate or reliable

10.3 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BRIDGE@HOME SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bridge@Home, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Services
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Your violation of any applicable laws

12. Third-Party Services

Our Services may integrate with or link to third-party services (payment processors, analytics, social media). We are not responsible for these third-party services and their terms and policies apply separately.

13. Modifications to Services

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue any aspect of the Services
  • Change features or functionality
  • Impose limits on certain features
  • Update software and applications

We will provide reasonable notice of material changes when possible.

14. Modifications to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Services.

15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, you will lose access to your account and any purchased credits.

15.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Risk to our Services or other users
  • Extended inactivity

15.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Services ceases immediately
  • You remain liable for all obligations incurred
  • Provisions that should survive termination will continue to apply

16. Dispute Resolution

16.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at legal@bridgeathome.app to seek an informal resolution.

16.2 Arbitration

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules. The arbitration shall take place in [Your State/Location].

16.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive the right to participate in class actions or class arbitrations.

Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights.
